Câmara Municipal do Recife Aprova Título de Cidadã Recifense para Margareth Menezes
Nesta segunda-feira (13), a Câmara Municipal do Recife aprovou por unanimidade o decreto legislativo de n° 37/2023, conferindo o título de cidadã recifense à cantora e ministra da Cultura, Margareth Menezes. O projeto, proposto pelo vereador Joselito Ferreira (PSB/PE), recebeu apoio unânime no plenário.
O vereador Joselito Ferreira justificou a concessão do título à artista, destacando os serviços prestados por Margareth Menezes ao longo das últimas décadas para a preservação da cultura popular do país. Além de sua notável carreira artística, o reconhecimento também se estende ao ativismo social da ministra, incluindo a criação da ONG “Fábrica da Cultura”, que oferece cursos profissionalizantes para jovens e oficinas de arte-educação. Ele ressaltou ainda o papel dela no “Movimento Afropop”, que visa preservar a cultura afro-brasileira.
Joselito Ferreira ressaltou a importância da última visita de Margareth Menezes a Pernambuco em setembro, quando a ministra lançou dois editais vinculados ao “Programa Cultura Viva”. Os editais priorizam iniciativas que tenham mulheres, pessoas com deficiência, negros, indígenas e a população LGBTQIA+ como proponentes ou beneficiados.
“Como recifense, ficamos felizes quando a Ministra escolheu o Recife, em setembro deste ano, para ser sede do lançamento de dois importantes editais do ministério recriado, que são o Edital do Prêmio Cultura Viva Sérgio Mamberti e o Edital destinado aos Pontões de Cultura”, destacou Joselito Ferreira.
O título de cidadã recifense para Margareth Menezes agora aguarda os trâmites formais para sua efetivação, sendo um reconhecimento não apenas à sua contribuição artística, mas também ao compromisso social da ministra com a cultura e a inclusão.
